What kind of file system should have an USB drive to work with Pioneer DJ Equipment?

There are different computer file systems (FAT32/ExFAT/OSX...). Pioneer DJ Equipment (DJ-Player and DJ-Controller) works only with FAT32 file system! All our Premium Crystal DJ Sticks are pre-formatted with FAT32. Ready to use with Pioneer DJ Equipment. In case of new formatting the FAT32 file system should always be used!

How to format USB 2.0 / USB 3.0 drive under Apple MAC OSX with the file system FAT32?

1. Open hard disk utility!
2. Select "General USB Flash Drive"
3. Click "Delete"
4. Optional: Enter the name under "Name"
5. Select "MS-DOS file system (FAT)" format
6. Select Master Boot Record Scheme
7. Click "Delete" (Attention! All files on the selected drive will be deleted.)

How to format USB 2.0 / USB 3.0 drive under Microsoft Windows with the file system FAT32?

By default, only USB drives up to 32GB size can be formatted with FAT32. USB drives whith more than 32GB must be formatted with an additional program. For example, you can use the free program "FAT32 Format". Download here: http://www.ridgecrop.demon.co.uk/guiformat.exe
1. Select Drive
2. Optional: Enter the label under "Volume label"
3. Click "Start" (Attention! All files on the selected drive will be deleted.)

Why are the Premium Crystal DJ Sticks slower then excepted?

The most of our Premium Crystal DJ Sticks using high speed chip sets with the latest USB 3.0 standard, but the maximum speed is only reached on USB 3.0 ports! That means, if you use a computer with installed Recordbox and only 2.0 ports, you only reach a speed of 30 MB/s.
USB 3.0 ports normally blue marked. Please notice also, all Pioneer players using only USB 2.0 standard till now. Our Premium Crystal DJ Sticks are consequently faster then the players.
